PhotoScape

We all know how image editors work, but wouldn't you like to try a fun and exciting experience for once? Such an example is PhotoScape.

As the application focuses on viewing and manipulating images, PhotoScape itself is very colorful and "happy".

When you open PhotoScape, you are encountered by a white window in full screen, with a few sliding pictures (which redirect you to Flickr galleries once you click them), and a menu system displayed in a circle.

The menu includes a viewer, editor, batch editor, page, combine, animated GIF, print, splitter, screen capture, color picker, raw converter, rename, and paper print.

All these titles are pretty self-explanatory.

In addition, you can develop photographs from an online studio, and find similar faces on the Internet (including but not limited to celebrities).

So, here's what you can do: combine photos to create a single one, slice an image into several pieces, capture a screenshot (which is no different from Print Screen), batch edit a bunch of photos, use the editor to create special effects (e.g. red eye correction, mole removal, paint brush), and others.

PhotoScape is fun to work with but it honestly doesn't bring anything new to the table (although the face searching is kind of fun).

All in all, PhotoScape is a great program to work with when you need to make small changes and don't want to burden yourself with heavier software. But professionals will limit themselves to more advanced image editing tools.
